This guide gets better each time a reader or an owner writes in. Each listing carries the date we last checked it, and the people who have been since keep it moving.
We check 30 listings against the businesses' own pages and publish the date on each one. That catches a changed price. It does not catch a kitchen that now closes on Tuesdays, or the taco truck that moved down the malecón. Those reach us from the people who were standing there.
What we do with it
Our side of the dealA correction gets checked and published, usually within the week, and the listing's date moves to the day we confirmed it. We do not publish your name or your email, and we do not add you to anything.
If you run a business here, a listing costs nothing and always will. We will not ask you for money to be included, to rank higher, or to remove a competitor. What we will ask for is a phone number that works and a price you are happy to see printed.
Where we could use a hand
The gaps we know aboutPhone-only businesses. 15 of our listings have no website, so no script can re-check them. Their hours and prices go stale first, and a reader who has walked past this week knows more than we do.
The beaches. We have no road-condition guide yet, and it is the question we get asked most. If you have driven to Playa La Chiva, Caracas, or Negra this year, we would love to know what you were driving and whether you made it.
Food trucks. They keep their own hours and move around. We have a handful listed and suspect there are more.
